Ingredients:

For the Cookies:

1 cup unsalted butter, softened
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1/4 cup granulated sugar
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp ground cardamom
1/4 tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla extract

For the Orange Glaze:

1 cup powdered sugar
2 tbsp fresh orange juice
1 tsp orange zest
1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Directions:

Make the Dough:

In a large mixing bowl, beat butter, powdered sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
Add the vanilla extract, then mix in the flour, cardamom, and salt until the dough just comes together.

Shape and Chill:

Divide the dough in half and roll each half into a log about 2 inches in diameter. Wrap in plastic wrap and chill for 1 hour in the refrigerator.

Preheat the Oven:

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Slice and Bake:

Slice the chilled dough into 1/4-inch thick rounds and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are just lightly golden. Let them cool on the sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Make the Orange Glaze:

Whisk together powdered sugar, orange juice, orange zest, and vanilla extract until smooth.

Glaze the Cookies:

Once the cookies are cool, drizzle or spread the orange glaze over the top. Allow the glaze to set before serving.
